Rooting in August

🌳I want to understand the seven chakras clearly, so this month, I will begin with the 1st of them, the Root Chakra. If you're new to the chakras, let me explain what they are. The seven chakras are energy centers in the body corresponding to specific organs and states of being. It’s all science. The chakras are located vertically along the body's central axis, from the base of the spine to the top of the head. Some say there are 114 different chakras, but seven main chakras run along your spine. Most of us refer to these chakras when we talk about them.

The root chakra is responsible for your sense of safety and security and is the foundation of your life. When your root chakra is imbalanced physically, you can be easily angered, disconnected, and alienated, with increased distractibility, anxiety, stress, depression, fear, uncertainty, panic attacks, worry, overthinking nightmares, and a general lack of interest in the world.

Physically, you can have difficulty sleeping, constipation, bowel issues, weight gain or loss, weakened immunity, fatigue, problems in the lower body, including the lower back and the base of the spine, colon issues, bladder issues, and inflammation.

When your root chakra is aligned, you feel secure, stable, and full of health, energy, and vitality. Our sleep is improved. We feel grounded, less stress and a sense of being will dissipate, and we are more focused.

I have been doing a lot of research on this chakra and will share information throughout the month. The root chakra is associated with red because it’s linked to the earth element and the sense of smell. There are a lot of different practices and activities that you can do to make sure that this chakra is balanced. There are various yoga poses and other foods you can eat as well.

This is an exploration to understand the seven chakras, and I will be on this journey for the month of August. The only way I know how to understand a subject is to research and study. I am super excited to take my time to learn, share, and shed wisdom on how we can evolve into the best versions of ourselves from the inside out.
